“Jenn loves yoga and it’s infectious. She inspires her students to take their yoga both more seriously and more lightly, balancing fun and feeling good with a depth of understanding and mind-body awareness. Her practice is very accessible to all levels and styles. Simply put, Jenn’s a yogi’s yogi. She understands that students come in all shapes, sizes, from all backgrounds, and are all at different stages of the yogic journey.”

Missions of this 200-hour YTTC

You will leave this training with the tools and methods you need to begin creating and living the lifestyle of a yogi. This journey lasts many lifetimes, and it's a pleasure to be guiding you through this step.

There are five main categories covered throughout this training:

1. Practice
2. Philosophy
3. Yogic Lifestyle
4. Teaching Methods
5. Anatomy & Physiology

Practice

You will be guided to dive into the practical aspect of yoga. You will learn and practice a wide range of yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra (chanting), dhyana (meditation), and more traditional and modern practices. You will develop a strong foundation in your own yoga practice, focusing on alignment, flexibility, strength, and balance (for the mind, body, and heart). This is where you will be supported to build your own personal practice and refine your techniques, which you can later share as a certified yoga teacher!

Philosophy & Mythology

Yoga philosophy is an essential part of this training and one your teachers are deeply fond of and specialize in. This is how you will connect with the roots and traditions of yoga. We will explore ancient texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita; as well as the lineages of Veda & Tantra. This category covers the philosophical underpinnings of yoga, such as the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Hindu Mythology, the nature of the mind, and the path to self-realization. This provides a holistic understanding of yoga far beyond physical postures—the true yoga.

Yogic Lifestyle

A significant part of the training is devoted to adopting a sacred and authentic yogic lifestyle. You will learn about yogic principles, ethical guidelines, and how to incorporate yoga into your daily life (no matter what your lifestyle looks like). This includes lessons on mindfulness, meditation, embodiment, and the importance of self-care and a balanced way of living. The goal is to not only teach yoga but to live it and embody its principles. This is where you will be guided to really bring the tradition of yoga to life.

Teaching Methods

You will acquire everything you need to begin the journey of becoming an embodied yoga teacher, rooted in the tradition alongside modern understandings and integration. You will learn how to create transformational lesson plans, creatively sequence classes, develop unique workshops, and adapt your deliver for different levels and special requirements. We will also explore the art of listening, hands-on adjustments, and class management. Of course, you will practice teaching and receive constructive feedback to support you in advancing your teaching skills.

Anatomy & Physiology

Understanding the human body is crucial for delivering safe and effective practices. We will explore human anatomy and physiology, with a focus on how yoga postures and breath control impact the body. We will address both Eastern and Western Sciences and understandings of the body. You will gain insights of injury prevention, alignment principles, and modifications for individual needs. This knowledge ensures that graduates can guide their students with a solid understanding of the body's mechanics.

Yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the Self.

Meet Your Teachers

With a combined 3+ decades of teaching experience and a true dedication to living the path of yoga, Jenn and Jesse will undoubtedly be bringing you one of the most well-rounded, traditional yoga experiences.

  • Lead Yoga Teacher Trainer (Vedic Tradition)

Through teaching yoga, I guide you to know yourself better. I connect you to the voice of your body and what it could be sharing with you. There is so much to learn about your mind through your body. This is an opportunity to create “good” karma (action) and shift samskaras (programming).

The most powerful teacher is in your Heart, and it’s always my intention as a teacher to guide you to that, and to support your students to do the same.

I look forward to share this space of authenticity and aiming for self-mastery with you. Through yoga, we return to love for ourselves, for one another, and for unity.

I have been teaching yoga since 2016 and had no idea the path this would take me on at that time. I've learned from the Vedic lineage and studied under teachers from India, Canada and Australia. I have 650 hours of Yoga Alliance training, and countless hours of traditional Vedic training (this is so traditional that it's not a Yoga Alliance thing). I’ve led retreats and workshops all over the world and have taught on YTTs in Thailand and Bali.

This is a about to be a wild and beautiful journey and I can’t wait to share it with you.

    Big love & Namaste.

  • Lead Yoga Teacher Trainer (Tantric Tradition)

My duty as a yoga teacher is to meet you and your practice in the present moment. Each session is designed to build slowly and safely towards a pinnacle pose. Modifications for beginners, challenges for intermediates and precision refinements for experienced practitioners will be incorporated as needed and are a part of my belief that yoga is for everyone.

Depending on the theme and design of each day’s practice; hatha, yin, vinyasa, restorative and Iyengar elements will be recognizable. The opportunity to study and practice in a variety of communities, Toronto, Costa Rica, Morocco, India, and Thailand has enriched and widened my perspective while challenging my teaching abilities.

I have 700 hrs of Yoga Alliance training. I have taught at studios in Toronto both public and private classes, I have had corporate clients, have run workshops, and retreats and have led teacher trainings in Costa Rica, Sri Lanka and India. I've studied traditional Thai massage and meditation in Thailand and have been teaching yoga for nearly twenty years.

    Peace.

Testimonials

  • “Jenn is a yoga rock star. Her yoga classes are filled with a great style of teaching, fun and dynamic. No room for boredom here as Jenn guides you through a wonderful sequence every time. I learned that her classes are not pre-planned, but adjusted to the audience and delivered in such a way that makes it look like she's taught that specific class/sequence a hundred times. I love her enthusiasm and humour which rings through her classes and radiates from her cool, quirky, Canadianness. I really appreciate Jenn's warm approach of checking in and connecting with everyone, one-to-one at the beginning of class. Her adjustments and cues are delivered and demonstrated with such ease, which makes them so effective. Thanks for everything, Jenn.”

    Geoff Brennan, Ireland

  • "Jenn is a loving and caring person that will support you in your personal and spiritual empowering journey. She's so good at what she does. I am so happy to have stumbled upon her as a yoga student in Pai, Thailand in 2018. Before attending her class, I would have never expected everything she delivered to me. She became my coach for 6 months, my meditation teacher, and my facilitator of two programs she developed based on yogic principles. Her work positively inspired my view of the world and is what I needed to grow spiritually and gain inner peace. I gained so much wisdom. Years later, she is and stays as one of my role models and I am privileged to have met her!"

    Noemie Kunkler, France

  • “Practicing yoga with Jenn has been an awesome experience and I look forward to continuing this practice with her. Jenn has embodied her practice and teaches from the heart - this is the most important asset I have found in my teachers because it allows them to connect to their students with honesty, understanding, compassion, and joy. Her solid foundation in yogic philosophy is seamlessly interwoven throughout her asana practices, meaning that the teachings and benefits of only being with the body are clear under her guidance.”

    Connor Paone, Canada

  • "This experience with Jenn changed my life and helped accelerate my growth and connection to my Highest Self in ways I didn't know were possible. I felt so stuck in my shadows and disconnected from my Self. I was a student of Jenn's for years before working 1-1 with her. So when I wanted extra support I knew exactly who to go to. The work she guided me through brought so many smiles and purpose back into my life! It helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. I feel like a new person and I can't thank her support enough. There are no words to express how grateful I am to Jenn."

    Leon Werner, Germany

  • “Jenn offers a very unique and traditional approach to her classes and workshops, bringing in the teachings and appreciation of the ancient yoga practice. I enjoy her ability to share the mantras of the teaching, and then translate it for us to understand what we were giving gratitude towards. Her Ashtanga and power flow classes are so powerful and will challenge you no matter where you’re at in your practice. Keep inspiring and sharing your knowledge of this practice, Jenn!”

    Travis Wade, USA

  • “Jenn has had a profound impact on my yoga practice. With her calming and deeply attentive presence, Jenn creates approachable yet challenging classes which will center you and drive you to connect more powerfully to your body. Her classes are a uniquely beautiful experience and her energy stays with you long after the mat. I would also highly recommend a private lesson with Jenn for those looking to take their practice to the next level.”
